You may be able to sponsor certain relatives to immigrate to Canada under the Family Class if you’re at least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen or person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or permanent resident of Canada.
For Family Sponsorship, there must be a family member who already resides in Canada and is one of the following:
- A Canadian citizen
- A Permanent Resident
- A person registered under the Canadian Indian Act
If you have family members you would like to bring to Canada, we can help you sponsor them to come and join you. Family members who can be sponsored include:
- Spouse/partner
- Dependent children
- Parents and grandparents
- Adopted children
- Other relatives
In addition, family members can be sponsored to visit children or grandchildren who are living in Canada.
Super Visa
It is given to parents and grandparents of the citizens and permanent residents of Canada who want to visit Canada. This is a new option provided from December 1, 2011. This visa is valid for 10 years and will allow the applicant to remain in Canada for up to 2 years at a time without renewing the status of the visa.
